Desperation by Stephen King is a supernatural horror novel set in the desolate Nevada town of Desperation. The story begins when a group of travelers is stopped and arrested by the town's deranged sheriff, Collie Entragian. They soon discover that the sheriff is under the influence of a malevolent, ancient entity that has taken control of him.
